You can learn how to make ice cream in just 5 simple steps. It only takes a few ingredients and a simple recipe to make this summer treat come to life in your own kitchen.

How to Make Vanilla Ice Cream

Follow the directions below to make a total of ten 1/2 cup servings of vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla
  • Extract to taste

Directions

Step One:
In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or whisk to combine the milk and sugar ingredients until the sugar is dissolved. This can take one to two minutes on low speed.

Step Two:
Stir in heavy cream and add vanilla extract to taste.

Important Tips to Remember When Using a Machine
1. It is important to keep in mind that when you are done mixing all of your recipe ingredients in the machine, you want to immediately place the ice cream in the freezer to prevent it from warming up.

2. Use a plastic scoop or wooden spoon. Avoid using a metal scoop so that bowl is not scratched.

3. To prevent the potential of your machine overflowing, your ingredients should not exceed 80% of the capacity of the bowl. Ice cream will expand as it is being formed.
